To decide which solution best suits your needs, several factors should be considered, including capacity, the type of milking technology, the herd size of milking cows, and the individual attention for the cows. Additionally, whether or not you want to feed during the milking and the available floor space are important considerations.
Capacity | Herringbone
Capacity is an important factor in determining which milking solution best suits your wishes and requirements. Capacity depends on many factors, including your business strategy and preferences, the size of your herd, the amount of time you want to spend on milking each day, whether multiple employees will be milking at the same time, and how you want to milk your cows: from the side, from behind, etc. The parlour layout itself, the possibilities for realizing the parlour, and the change-over times also differ per type of parlour. Every milking solution has its own specific capacity characteristics. We will be happy to advise you on the different milking technologies to achieve the highest possible capacity.

Milking technique
SAC is committed to providing the best solutions in the field of milking cows. Various high-quality products are necessary to effectively milk a cow.
Low-lying milk lines
SAC has developed a unique technology for low-lying milk lines. The lightweight UniFlow ensures minimal vacuum fluctuations under the teat, promoting animal welfare and facilitating a smooth milk flow. The electronically controlled IDC milking and remover unit, combined with the UniMilco for accurate data management, provides everything necessary for each milking stand. Alongside the receiver and milk pump, this system ensures a safe process from the cow to the cooling tank.
High-lying milk lines
A swing-over system ensures that the milk lines are always positioned higher than the cow. The swing-over arm facilitates a seamless connection from the UniFlow to the clusters. Milking begins automatically when the swing-over arm, carrying the cluster, shifts to the other side of the milking parlour to milk a cow. With this system, milking occurs in a continuous flow. While cows are being milked on one side, it's possible to attend to other tasks such as changing cows or tending to udders on the opposite side.

Individual attention of cows and welfare in the parlour
The amount of space per cow differs per type of milking parlour. The angle of the cows gives different length and width of the parlour type. This ensures that the milker in a herringbone milking parlour is closer to the cow. This promotes contact and overview in the milking parlour. The positioning gates in a herringbone parlour give each cow its own space, which is more comfortable for the cow and creates a more calm environment in the parlour.
The amount of space allocated per cow varies depending on the type of milking parlour. The positioning of the cows influences the dimensions of the parlour, ensuring that in a herringbone milking parlour, the milker is closer to the cow. This proximity promotes contact and allows for better oversight in the milking parlour. Additionally, the positioning gates in a herringbone parlour provide each cow with its own space, enhancing comfort and creating a calmer environment during milking.
Ironwork type
The choice of the cow's positioning in the milking parlour determines the type of parlour and the corresponding ironwork. Options include a herringbone 60 or a side-by-side 90-degree parlour. To expedite the process of returning cows to the barn after milking, there are options such as Fast-Exit or Rapid-Exit systems. Flexible layout

Depending on the parlour size, a milking receiver of 60 or 100 liters is used, along with a milk line of your choice. Various options exist for connecting the milk line with the milk receiver, including placement outside the pit, such as in a basement installation or in front of or next to the pit. The herringbone 60-degree parlour is a versatile milking solution suitable for all cow types, especially ideal for renovation projects. Fast- en Rapid-Exit
To ensure swift departure of cows from the milking parlour after milking, the side-by-side parlour can be equipped with a Fast- or Rapid-Exit system.
Fast-Exit
In a side-by-side parlour at 90 degrees with Fast-Exit, the front ironwork tilts the positioning gates up, allowing cows to walk across the entire stall width to find their place in the stable.
Rapid-Exit
In a side-by-side 90-degree parlour with Rapid-Exit, the entire front ironwork moves up or rotates 180 degrees, allowing cows to walk forward freely to the exit. The Rapid-Exit system ensures rapid cow exchange. However, it requires more square meters of space due to the exit. Despite this, the labor savings from rapid milking outweigh the extra labor needed for cleaning the milking parlour.
